Tom has a brief look at an excellent article by Richard Warshak, Ph.D on 10 myths around Parental Alienation.  The article goes through 10 things that are found to be “common” knowledge and if accepted will do damage to both the children and the family.  He looks at whether therapy is effective (it isn’t) and  at what things are effective in trying to bring healing to the family. Janice Fiamengo strikes again and exposes an issue that is visible and prevalent but it rarely talked about. This time it is the double standard of women using sex as a means to ascend in the workplace while at the same time condemning men for their use of sex for their own pleasure. Aman Siddiqi has done the mental health field a real favor in mapping out the ways men face prejudice. He teaches other psychlogists that their therapeutic success is dependent upon their awareness of the prejudice that men face.  This excerpt from this dissertation focuses on the empathy gap and the different ways this impacts the lives of men. In this excerpt Warren Farrell shows how dad’s parenting is unique and instrumental in the development of the children.  The excerpt looks at the different ways that dads  challenge the kids limits and how this challenge is often seen in a negative light by mom.
